ROCKFORD INNOVATIVE LEARNING CENTER (ILC)

Students from Rockford Public High Schools are getting second chance to earn their credits and turn around their behavior. The Rockford Innovative Learning Center (ILC) located in the Patriots Gateway Community Center gives students that second chance. It is a place where all students are valued and respected no matter their backgrounds, beliefs, or just don’t fit in.

Many students just need a different type of environment from the large high school. Students come to ILC for 3 hours a day in one of 3 different sessions. At ILC the environment is friendly, students learn on computer instruction, and teacher interaction to help students with their academics. All grades are reported back to the students’ home school and placed on their official school transcript just as if they took the classes there.

“We forget what they have done in the past and they start new. We build relationships with our students.”
