YOUTH ORGANIZER
2011 Annual Report
The Youth Organizer for Rockford Safety Net Works is responsible
for planning and organizing events and activities for youth in
the Rockford community. Under the Youth Organizer, a Youth
Advisory Council is established to provide the youth’s
perspective to the planning and organization of events that are
relevant to their needs, concerns, and interests. The members of
the Youth Advisory council are enrollees of the Rockford
Networks affiliated programs.
• Patriots Gateway’s Choices Programs
• Kennedy Middle School’s Violence Enders Program
• Booker Washington Center’s ACT Program and just imagine
program
• La Voz Latina Resource Center
• Boy Scouts of America
Events and activities planned and organized by the Youth
Organizer are designed to benefit youth in the community by
preparing awareness and prevention against choices that are
dangerous to their health, well-being, and future goals. The
best way to help the youth is to understand their personnel
communal struggles and create plans to help them handle and work
through those struggles in healthy ways.
An effective process of accomplishing this is by tracking the
risk level and progress of the youth enrolled in the programs
which is a responsibility of the Youth Organizer. This is done
by completing three forms: intake, which provides basic
information about the youth; Development assessment, which
scores the youth's risk level based on their responses to given
statements; and a service plan which is used to track the
progress of youth who score as medium or high risk on the
developmental Assessment..
The Youth Organizer is concerned with and responsible for
catering to the needs of Rockford’s youth and committed to
giving them the best chance for healthy stable lives. |
