The
Patriots' Gateway Junior Golf Program combines golf instruction
with personal development opportunities. Besides the game
of golf, the program offers life skills instruction.
One of the most important elements of Patriots' Gateway Junior
Golf Program are its life skills education.
Preliminary research highlights include the following:
Parents observed positive changes. After their child was
involved an average of six weeks in the Par-level training,
parents observed positive changes in their child's behaviors.
More specifically:
- 74% of parents observed a positive change in their
child's communication skills
- 74% of parents observed a positive change in their
child's display of responsibility
- 76% of parents observed an increase in their child's
confidence
- 52% of parents observed that their child made better
grades in school.
- 66% of parents observed a positive change in their
child's social ability.
In addition, when parents were asked how they felt their child
had changed through his/her experience with Patriots' Gateway
Junior Golf Program, their responses included the following:
- Can express feelings much better
- Much better at introducing himself and carrying on
conversations with others
- Much more outgoing
