Dukes & Dialogues, Discipline & Life Skills

The goal of the program is to work with youth who are already referred to with law enforcement to provide interventions that will minimize the risk of their becoming further involved with crime.  “Dukes” is participation in the amateur boxing, fitness and health education program. “Dialogue” is working through problems that lead to negative behavior. The Program began in February 2006 and has carried through to our C.L.A.

Each child is taught the CORE VALUES of Sportsmanship, Confidence, Integrity, Perseverance, Respect, Responsibility, Judgment, Courtesy, Honesty.

To co-ordinate with the physical aspects of Patriots’ Dukes, Dialogue & Discipline program it had initiated a ‘Lifeskills’ curriculum as a compliment to the Sporting agenda.

Following along with these core values our Lifeskills’ coach Renee Lampher guides the class through subject matter such as: Gangs, Gang violence, Stress, Rules, Rights, Law, Synergy, Careers, Manners, Consequences & Other various pertinent topics.

Currently the ‘Lifeskills’ portion of the Dukes, Dialogue & Discipline program hosts approximately 50 children ranging in age from seven to seventeen.

The participants are ‘at risk’ children from all walks of life including those children mandated from Winnebago County Juvenile Probation.

Patriots’ has brought discipline to these young people by physical training as well. Available activity menu including Sporting Activities and
