 The
Winnebago County Health Department is excited about working in
collaboration with Patriots’ Gateway Community Center through
our Kishwaukee Corridor Weed Seed. The Weed And Seed program
aims to prevent, control, and reduce violent crime, drug abuse
and gang activity in designated high crime neighborhoods across
the country.
Patriots’
Gateway Community Center is a key element of our Weed and Seed
Program strategy by providing a multi-service center which
offers a variety of youth and adult services in a highly visible
and accessible facility that is secure against crime and illegal
drug activity. Patriots’ Gateway Community Center has provided
office space for our Program Coordinator, a meeting room for our
monthly Steering Committee meetings, and is a designated safe
haven for our project.
We also
appreciate the support of the Patriots’ Gateway Community Center
through their active participation as a member of the Weed &
Seed Steering Committee and their generous donation of in-kind
services.
